How to Find and Read Your Tire Size

Your tire size is the first thing we need for a tire replacement. It takes a minute to find, and once you know where to look you will never forget.

Where to find your tire size

  1. On the tire. Look at the side of the tire (the sidewall) for a code like 225/65R17.
  2. On the door sticker. Open the driver's door and look at the tire and loading information label on the door frame. It shows the size your car came with.
  3. In the owner's manual. The tire section lists the recommended sizes.
  4. Not sure? Text us a photo of the sidewall, or tell us your year, make and model.

How to read the numbers

  • 225Width of the tire in millimeters
  • 65Sidewall height as a percentage of the width
  • RRadial construction (almost all car tires)
  • 17Wheel diameter in inches
  • 98HLoad index and speed rating. You can skip this part.

Do all four tires need to be the same size?

On most cars, yes, or very close. Some vehicles run different sizes on the front and rear. If your door sticker lists a front size and a rear size, tell us both.
